Ambulant Department for Adults
For those who have experienced torture or violent conflicts or war, life is not the same as before. The memories haunt our patients, sometimes they cannot sleep, have high tension or live in a state of constant fear. They suffer from pain or feel depressed, and: they often have the feeling, that they cannot speak with anyone about what they have experienced.
We treat persons who have been exposed to persecution and torture, or wartime violence, and suffer as a consequence of these experiences. People come to us from many different cultures and regions of the world. We support them in coping with the emotional and physical consequences of the violence that they have experienced and the ongoing stressors in exile.
Our multidisziplinary team of medical doctors, social workers and therapists provides victims of severe human rights violations with the following services free of charge:
The treatment and rehabilitation processes are tailored to the individual needs of the survivors. Interpreters are available to assist our staff and patients in communication.
